Details: The Cratchit family is having a party and you’re all invited. Join Mrs Cratchit, cousin Edith and uncle Hugo as they celebrate Christmas with a marvellous mix of festive songs, stories and parlour games.

The Cratchits’ Christmas Cracker! is a festive feast of seasonal silliness, a merry mixture of Yuletide foolery, created and performed by Mary Woodvine, Craig Johnson and Jenny Beare, who between them have decades of theatrical experience with Kneehigh, Wildworks, the Minack, o-region, the RSC, the National Theatre…and Nancledra village hall.

Time2 Move Activity Club - DT Sports Coaching

Details: These Time2Move Activity Clubs are a great chance for Primary School aged children to try multiple new activities in a fun and friendly environment.

These sessions are free to all via funding from Healthy Cornwall.

Accessible Sessions with Father Christmas

Details: Father Christmas brings festive magic to the stable yard this December, where he’ll tell a special story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick. Once the storytelling has finished, he’ll hand out a small gift at the end to each child.

On 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 December join Father Christmas for a relaxed storytelling session in the stable yard at 3.30pm.

This is an accessible session aimed at providing Trelissick’s ‘An Audience with Father Christmas’ as a more relaxed and calmer Father Christmas experience. With reduced noise levels and crowds, we hope to create a less stressful environment with Father Christmas.

The festive story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick will last approximately 20-30 minutes with time at the end to receive a small gift from Father Christmas.

A limited number of ear defenders and sensory toys will be available for use in the relaxed sessions on the day and an access statement is available from our website.

Tickets cost £6 per child, £4 per adult. All adults attending An Audience with Father Christmas are required to have an adult ticket. We are unable to process refunds.

Santa Run Eden

Details: Don your festive fancy dress and walk, jog or run our sponsored 2k, with 4 Christmassy stops along the way. Make special memories this Christmas while raising vital funds for families supported by our 3 hospices, including Little Harbour. We ask each participant to commit to raise £30 as an individual or £86 as a family.

Free entry into The Eden Project for the whole day. Santas on the Run isn’t a timed race, it’s for everyone to complete at their own pace.

Christmassy stops include snow station, selfie with the elf, sweets and treats and festive songs in the biome.

Competitions for the best fancy dress; dig out your favourite festive outfit or pyjamas, dress as your favourite Christmas character or even create your own costume.

Festive Family Pottery Painting

Details: Pop in with the kids and have a festive family pottery painting session

There will be a choice of items for children and adults to paint ranging from ornaments to tree decorations. You will be set up with the paints and directed on how best to apply them, then you can have fun and get creative.

You will produce: A uniquely painted creation, a perfect gift that will be food safe and dishwasher safe. It will be clear glazed and fired in our kiln.

Equipment & materials: Earthenware bisque, glazes and equipment provided.

Collection/delivery: Your item will usually be ready within 10 to 20 days. You can either collect your item from Wheal Martyn or we can post it to you. If you would like it posted please select this option when you book online.

Level: All abilities, from any age welcome. Any child under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Workshops duration: Approximately 1 hour drop in session.

Make your own Christmas Decorations 

Details: Before you know it Christmas will be here so why not get prepared and have a go at making your very own decorations, perfect for a gift or just to treat yourself.

You will get to have a go at making something festive whether a tea light holder, ornament or a decoration for the tree. You will then get to paint your decorations with a selection of coloured slips. Once dry, they will go off to be fired in our kiln, then a clear glaze will be applied and fired again. Your work will be ready in time to collect before Christmas. No experience necessary as all guidance will be given, just a willingness to try.

Equipment & materials: Clay, coloured slips and tools are provided. We recommend that you bring an apron along and a snack as this workshop runs over lunch.

You will produce: Either a tea light holder or an ornament, and a decoration to hang on the tree.

Festive Fun Day

Details: Dress up in your fun festive finery and explore the museum and woodland trails to celebrate the festive season. We are incredibly excited that Father Christmas and his elf will be joining us for the day and sharing a special Christmas story!

Lantern Trail

Details: Enjoy an atmospheric lantern trail at Wheal Martyn to include lantern making, willow crafting, campfire and marshmallows, followed by a lantern lit walk around the historic grounds before ending at the Wheal Martyn atrium for a festive sing-song!

Accessible Sessions with Father Christmas

Details: Father Christmas brings festive magic to the stable yard this December, where he’ll tell a special story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick. Once the storytelling has finished, he’ll hand out a small gift at the end to each child.

On 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 December join Father Christmas for a relaxed storytelling session in the stable yard at 3.30pm.

This is an accessible session aimed at providing Trelissick’s ‘An Audience with Father Christmas’ as a more relaxed and calmer Father Christmas experience. With reduced noise levels and crowds, we hope to create a less stressful environment with Father Christmas.

The festive story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick will last approximately 20-30 minutes with time at the end to receive a small gift from Father Christmas.

A limited number of ear defenders and sensory toys will be available for use in the relaxed sessions on the day and an access statement is available from our website.

Tickets cost £6 per child, £4 per adult. All adults attending An Audience with Father Christmas are required to have an adult ticket. We are unable to process refunds.

Please note that normal admission charges to Trelissick apply, admission for a family including 2 adults and up to 3 children, is £42.50. Admission is free for National Trust members.

Only assistance dogs are permitted at this event.

Time2 Move Activity Club - DT Sports Coaching

Details: These Time2Move Activity Clubs are a great chance for Primary School aged children to try multiple new activities in a fun and friendly environment.

These sessions are free to all via funding from Healthy Cornwall.

The Activity Clubs in St Austell will run every Monday during Term Time in the Autumn Meeting/Drop-off Point: Please use the carpark by the Sports Hall. DT Sports coaches will meet you by the gateway into the facilities.
