DadVentures Planting Day with the Grower 

Details: Join us for DadVentures Planting Day with The Grower—dig in, get dirty, and grow some fun together!

We’re calling all Dads, Fathers, StepDads, Farther like figures! Join DadVentures and The Grower for a fun, hands on morning of tree planting for you and your children (both young and old) can enjoy! Together, we’ll help grow a healthier, greener future while learning about nature, biodiversity, and how small actions can make a big environmental impact.

This relaxed, dad and child friendly session is perfect for anyone who loves being outdoors, getting muddy, and making a positive difference.

These half term activities are included in Museum admission, under 5s FREE.

The Sea Show

Details: A delightful family show by the brilliant Squashbox Theatre

Dive into The Sea Show, a wonderfully eccentric blend of puppetry, seaside storytelling and playful comedy that brings the ocean to life in the most imaginative way.

Meet a whole crew of colourful seaside characters, including Morwenna the not‑so‑modest mermaid, Ruan the once‑troublesome seagull with a new outlook on life, and the rugged Captain Pemburthy. They’re joined by a lively assortment of cheeky sea creatures—from sprightly squirts and anemones to crabs, limpets and pilchards!

Join the adventure as the show splashes together tall tales, slapstick humour, fascinating marine facts, music and songs. It’s a joyful celebration of the coast that keeps both children and adults thoroughly entertained.

Beloved by audiences of all ages, The Sea Show is praised for its clever puppetry, relaxed performance style and gently mischievous humour.

Perfect for ages 4+ and their families.

Dyslexia Cornwall - Offering advice on dyslexia 

Details: Dyslexia Cornwall will be in Waterstones Truro offering free advice and guidance on dyslexia and associated difficulties. Come and chat with their friendly and experienced team about anything and everything to do with dyslexia. Guidance is offered for all ages.

Easter Egg Hunt

Details: The Easter Bunny has been busy hiding eggs all around the museum grounds. Put on your detective hat and follow the trail to crack the clues and search high and low to uncover hidden eggs across the museum. Each stop will uncover a letter and another piece of the puzzle. Complete the hunt by finding all the letters and figure out the special Easter phrase! Then claim your Easter reward from the front desk. Perfect for curious eggs-plorers and egg-cellent detectives of all ages.

Further details: The ceramic eggs were decorated by community groups at the museum including our weekly Arts for Health group, and they were made by our resident potter Selina.

Details: Get creative this Easter holiday with our family-friendly craft sessions.

Children can shape and model with air-drying clay and create an Easter bunny, a tile to decorate or something else entirely! Or you could paint your own pottery to take home, from ceramic decorations to beautiful Easter Eggs! Come in any time, find a seat and have fun.
