Father Christmas at the Museum
Details: Follow Lowen the Elf on an enchanting journey, brought to life with song, light, and spellbinding projections.
Let your imagination take flight at this most wonderful time of year, with a heart warming tale of how Cornwall’s birds – including a magnificent gathering of Choughs – came together to help the reindeers and save Christmas.
The culmination of the journey brings you to Father Christmas’ secret Kernow Office for a special visit.
This immersive storytelling experience promises a festive memory for the whole family — complete with a small gift and a photo opportunity with the man himself.

Accessible Sessions with Father Christmas
Details:Father Christmas brings festive magic to the stable yard this December, where he’ll tell a special story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick. Once the storytelling has finished, he’ll hand out a small gift at the end to each child.
On 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 December join Father Christmas for a relaxed storytelling session in the stable yard at 3.30pm.
This is an accessible session aimed at providing Trelissick’s ‘An Audience with Father Christmas’ as a more relaxed and calmer Father Christmas experience. With reduced noise levels and crowds, we hope to create a less stressful environment with Father Christmas.
The festive story of a Cornish Christmas at Trelissick will last approximately 20-30 minutes with time at the end to receive a small gift from Father Christmas.
A limited number of ear defenders and sensory toys will be available for use in the relaxed sessions on the day and an access statement is available from our website.

Tickets cost £6 per child, £4 per adult. All adults attending An Audience with Father Christmas are required to have an adult ticket. We are unable to process refunds.
Please note that normal admission charges to Trelissick apply, admission for a family including 2 adults and up to 3 children, is £42.50. Admission is free for National Trust members.
Only assistance dogs are permitted at this event.

Website: A relaxed audience with Father Christmas
Make your own Christmas Decorations
Details: Before you know it Christmas will be here so why not get prepared and have a go at making your very own decorations, perfect for a gift or just to treat yourself.
You will get to have a go at making something festive whether a tea light holder, ornament or a decoration for the tree. You will then get to paint your decorations with a selection of coloured slips. Once dry, they will go off to be fired in our kiln, then a clear glaze will be applied and fired again. Your work will be ready in time to collect before Christmas. No experience necessary as all guidance will be given, just a willingness to try.
Equipment & materials: Clay, coloured slips and tools are provided. We recommend that you bring an apron along and a snack as this workshop runs over lunch.
You will produce: Either a tea light holder or an ornament, and a decoration to hang on the tree.
Collection/delivery: Your item will be ready to collect before Christmas. You can either collect your item from Wheal Martyn or we can post it to you. If you would like it posted please select this option when you book online.
Combine with a visit: If you are not an annual pass holder but would like to combine your workshop with a visit to the museum you can purchase a reduced price admission ticket at the point of booking.
Level: Beginners, from age 10 welcome. Any child under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Festive Fun Day
Details: Dress up in your fun festive finery and explore the museum and woodland trails to celebrate the festive season. We are incredibly excited that Father Christmas and his elf will be joining us for the day and sharing a special Christmas story!
There will be lots of activities on offer, including clay decorations. Tickets are £3.00 for adults and £10.00 per child which includes visiting Father Christmas and a small gift from Santa. A booked timeslot is required. Please book at www.wheal-martyn.com

Activities will include making Elf and Reindeer crowns and Cornish Christmas cards, getting creative with clay decorations, conjuring up a Christmas wand, being spellbound by a festive story, exploring the Angel and sensory Reindeer Trail, tapping your feet to the tunes of the local band and choir, and popping along to the Christmas craft table!
After all the fun and action, pop in to the café for a festive treat and relax with a cup of something warm and one of our homemade cakes.

Lantern Trail
Details: Enjoy an atmospheric lantern trail at Wheal Martyn to include lantern making, willow crafting, campfire and marshmallows, followed by a lantern lit walk around the historic grounds before ending at the Wheal Martyn atrium for a festive sing-song!

Sparkle and Shine
Details: Stagezone Youth Theatre are very excited to be performing our musical showcase “Sparkle & Shine” on Saturday 13th December at Chacewater Village Hall at 3pm. The show will feature songs from musicals and songs linked to the meaning of Christmas. There will also be a raffle.

Time2 Move Activity Club - DT Sports Coaching
Details: These Time2Move Activity Clubs are a great chance for Primary School aged children to try multiple new activities in a fun and friendly environment.
These sessions are free to all via funding from Healthy Cornwall.
